Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC)is produced by synthetic modification of the naturally occurring polymer cellulose and is considered safe for normal consumption in humans. Nowadays hypromellose (HPMC) has been extensively and successfully developed into two-piece capsules for use in the pharmaceutical and nutritional industries. 2.Advantage: Important benefits of hpmc capsule include a moisture content of approximately 4%-6% making it an excellent container for moisture-sensitive drugs. HPMC vegetable capsules are also less prone to brittleness.Additionally, hypromellose does not bind to itself,therefore,dissolution delays due to crosslinking are not an issue.
