Vietnam's rubber export soars over 50pct in first ten months
Vietnam's rubber export in October is estimated to have reached 80,000 tonnes, earning $342 million, bringing the total figures in Jan-October to 608,000 tonnes worth $2.6 billion, up 2.7 percent in quantity and 57.3 percent in value from the same period last year, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development reported on November 3.
The average export rubber price in the first nine months of this year increased 56.3 percent year-on-year, to reach $4,325 per tonne.
China continued to be Vietnam's biggest rubber buyer with 60.1 percent of the market share and followed by Malaysia, Taiwan and Korea with 7.4 percent, 4.8 percent and 4.2 percent of the market share respectively.
Vietnam's export rubber products are mainly SVR 3L, SVR 10 and mixed rubber.
According to the forecast of Vietnam Industry and Information Centre (VITIC) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT), the country's rubber export turnover this year would reach some $3.67 billion for 820,000 tonnes on higher demand for natural rubber in major automobile manufacturing markets in Asia.
Basing on the statistics on rubber exports in the past few years, Vietnam's rubber export turnover in 2011 may reach nearly $3.63 billion, equalling to the figure predicted previously due to difficulties from both local and global markets.
